splash

Today, while I sit here listening to a summer storm that is (thankfully) cooling the house down, I'm grateful for:

- my wonderful husband who has worked hard this week on our garden while I rested my sore back
- time to watch those beautiful boys enjoy simple things - water, a paint brush, dancing in your undies
- painkillers and knowing how to treat my own back!

I'm also linking up to the gorgeous Lou at Sunny & Scout for another dose of Point & Shoot fun. Photobucket

  1. Love these pics! Isn't it wonderful how the simple things are so much fun? That's what children teach me.

I hope your back heals soon! A little ice treatment (15 min. on and off) always helped me. Oh, and some time on your back with knees up. Perhaps it's time to be pampered?

    1. Thanks Bea. I should have used ice - it,s been hot here so it would have been nice. I could definitely do with some pampering though!

  2. beautiful, beautiful photos, melissa! oh it's the simple things isn't it? our kid spent some time in their clam shell over the weekend too, a lovely way to keep them cool when they were bored with the airconditioned inside! I hope your back is on the mend and you are still able to get some rest this week x (ps what lens have you got on here?)

    1. Hi Tahnee, kids (at this age at least) really are happy with the simple things. Some water, some food colouring and some containers make for hours of fun.

The lens I used for these shots is the Tamron 17-50mm f/1.8 lens. It's the only lens I have! I'm hoping to upgrade my camera (current Canon 400D) and lens at the end of the year.

  5. Looks like a perfect afternoon for the boys!! My two love getting into the wading pool and running around on the verandah as well - if only the weather were warmer this summer so they could have done it more often (been a very 'cool' summer in Canberra this year!)
